Classroom whiteboard for teachers

Work it out where the lesson lives.

When a class needs a diagram, a worked example, or a quick correction, open Whiteboard from the lesson workspace. The Mac stays in charge while a configured Sidecar iPad gives you a comfortable writing surface.

Whiteboard is part of the macOS app workflow. Download for macOS: Coming Soon. A compatible Sidecar setup is required for the writing surface.

A board with a reason to be there

Keep the writing and the class context together.

A blank whiteboard is useful. A whiteboard that remembers the lesson it belongs to is easier to return to. Classroom Studio keeps selected reference panels beside the board while students follow the work on the classroom display.

01

Write by hand

Use Pen, Highlighter, Eraser, or Select & Move. Undo and redo keep a quick classroom explanation forgiving.

02

Leave the lesson visible

Keep Class Notes, Homework, Math, Learning Target, or another selected panel beside the writing area.

03

Return to the same work

The board is saved with the lesson's presentation phase, so the work stays with the class and part of the lesson where you made it.

A whiteboard workflow

From “show your work” to “let’s try one.”

The point is not to turn every lesson into a drawing lesson. It is to make the moment when students need to see your thinking easier to handle.

01

Open it from the lesson

Start Whiteboard where the lesson is already open, rather than leaving the plan to find a separate tool.

02

Choose the reference

Keep the prompt, homework, class notes, or Math panel beside the board so students know what the writing is answering.

03

Write, then teach the next step

Use the Sidecar writing display for the teacher input and keep the classroom display focused on the board and selected context.
